What is Tai Chi?
Tai Chi (also called Tai Chi Chuan, Taiji, Taijiquan, T'ai Chi Ch'uan, etc.) is a series of movements executed to increase wellness and vitality. These movements are performed slowly to elicit healing, reduce stress, strengthen muscles, improve longevity, and promote personal tranquility.
After class, students report feeling relaxed, peaceful, happy, or invigorated. Tai Chi does not cause excessive fatigue or exhaustion as many other kinds of workouts tend to do.
Tai Chi is also a martial art for self-defense, and as the student's knowledge expands, we will explore the martial applications as well as other Tai Chi sequences that are performed more quickly.
